Cross Country...

Today we had our school corss country. This is where the year 3-6's run the cross country - they run a route around the school and in the neighbouring roads, running back into the school grounds and through the rugby posts to finish!
Cross country is a lot of fun and a lot of hard work! We have training for the cross country along with the seniors and it is great to put it into action!

The year 3 and 4 boys run together and the year 3 and 4 girls run together.
Congratulations to Essendon, Riley L and Helena who took on the challenge to race against the year 5's!
There are some speedy year 3's who will have the choice to run against the year 5's next year!

Also a big congratualtions to Essendon who cam 1st out of all the year 5's! He gave Nathan a very good run for his money and it paid off!!!

Essenson will be joining the other year 5 and 6's who made it through to the inter school cross country next year. He is the only year 4 to make it through. We are very proud of him!

Mrs Reynolds was stationed on the corner of Wharf Rd and took photos as the room 8 people came along!

The Nukes!

Yesterday (Wednesday 24th October) we had a special concert by the band "The Nukes".
The Nukes are a 3 piece band that play ukuleles. The whole school went to the concert in the hall. It was so much fun!!! the Nukes write their own songs and they are very easy to clap and dance along to. They were very entertaining and very funny!!

We recommend that you look them up on youtube... We are sure that you will like them too!

Busy Busy Busy!!!

Wow! It has been a while since we posted something up and we didn't realise how much time had passed!
We have been so busy with things at school and are looking forward to the holidays coming up soon!

Our sharing of the "Silly Song" in whole school assembly was a big hit with everyone! We got lots of compliments from everyone, we are so glad that it was enjoyed! We will try to get a copy of the video up on the blog during the holidays.

We had a school wide Art Intensive last week where the whole school went to different classes and completed a special art activity. We will post some pictures of everyone's work when they get them back.

We have our annual Operation Spring Clean coming up next Wednesday (26th September) where we will be going out into the community to help tidy it up.
It is such an awesome thing to do for our community and it is always a lot of fun!

We have Grandparents Day coming up tomorrow and that will be a lot of fun. We will post some comments about it after it is over.

Wow... That is a lot of stuff and it isn't everything!!! We hope that you are enjoying keeping up with us and we will try to not let so much time go by til our next post!!!
Don't forget parents to get out the new @school portal which is another way of keeping up with the school and what is going on!

Assembly sharing

A Silly Song...

We have been working hard today on our sharing for main school assembly... We will be sharing a song using actions and props on Monday 20th August.
We would love it if you are able to come along and see our sharing... We are very excited to present it!!!

Just to give you a snippet...
There will be a boy wearing pink pyjamas, a girl wearing flippers and slippers, a man with rubbish on his head and a lady with clothes made of lollipops!!!

Planting fruit trees...

Today, 6 children were lucky enough to go and recieve some fruit trees that were given to the school.
Alex, Eli, Stella, Katrina, Lily and Isabella also got to plant the fruit trees! There were 2 orange trees, a lemon tree, a mandarin tree and a feijoa tree!
They planted them along the bank by the school carpark...

Here are some photos from the planting...
